For many people it’s about where they travel, for others it’s who they travel with. I feel the same, to an extent, but a lot of my enjoyment comes from the activities I’m doing. Sometimes, a week away relaxing on a beach somewhere or exploring one of America’s biggest cities is exactly what’s needed. However I personally prefer spending my time either diving some amazing wrecks, skiing in the Bavarian Alps or seeing some remote Scottish islands by boat.
After all, the site isn’t called Frontpacking Holidays…
Travelling with a purpose has become a focus for many. Since the COVID pandemic in 2020, tourists have been able to appreciate travel. It’s always the case – you don’t know what you have until it’s gone! Being able to try activities around the world is a very fortunate position to be in. To be able to travel is a fortunate position to be in! Various studies over the past decade have found that 13.5% of British residents don’t have passports, and that’s around 45% of Americans! Even only around 50% of French residents have them. Just being able to leave your country unlocks so much adventure. While activities like hiking, scuba diving, various sports and exploring new cities can be done in your own country, doing them abroad just adds a little something. If you’re an adventurous person, hopefully this blog will give you some inspiration. I’ve taken inspiration from others. Lonely Planet have some amazing guide books, but for activities around the world, nothing quite beats getting out there and exploring.
